Blush Hues & Scenic Views. Outdoor wedding inspiration in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland

What makes your Submission special? Here you are free to brag about your wedding or work, tell us why it's a fit for Ruffled and all other tidbits we love to know - mentions of DIY projects, how the concept or vision of the wedding or shoot was created, any funny stories about how the couple met or came across their venue, etc.

Blush tones, cascading flowers and the rolling hills of the Gold Coast Hinterland were the key elements when planning this editorial. Queensland based stylists Harper Arrow teamed up with California based florist Layered Vintage to create an editorial shoot that reflected unique wedding trends from both Australia and the United States.

Being lucky enough to live in the sunshine state, we wanted to showcase to future brides and grooms how to create a day that not only takes advantage of our amazing weather, but that also incorporates the beautiful scenery here in Queensland. The editorial came to life at the picturesque Ardeena in Carool Queensland, which has extensive hinterland and ocean views. We decided to incorporate a Naked Tipi as our key structure as it seamlessly blended in to the natural surroundings and didn’t obstruct any of the scenic views.

A mixture of blush, and neutral flowers intertwined with lush greenery native to the area ascended up the entrance of the tipi, drawing the attention to the wooden chandeliers that delicately hung above. We filled the tipi with a mixture of soft colours and natural textures as we didn’t want to use anything too harsh that may draw attention away from the beautiful surroundings.

A vintage airstream acted as the ultimate bar along with a velvet lounge and flower bar as we really loved mixing together the different textures. We also included a table setting with a silk table runner and flowers cascading down the table. Graphic design legends Sketch & Etch and Willow & Ink nailed the design brief with their signage matching the colour scheme perfectly.

Bohemian gurus Spell Designs provided their beautiful dresses to reflect that casual yet delicate feel. This was also represented in the loose curls and peachy makeup tones on our beautiful model Miné.

Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with how the editorial turned out. We were lucky enough to work with a team of incredible vendors that all nailed the brief and executed their craft so beautifully.
